Sunday Morning was a rough one for Megan. She woke with a sore throat, and I gave her some cough medicine that kind of knocked her out for a while.

She was semi-aware while we were having our bible reading time, but managed to wake up a little when it came time to go out for our morning's activities.
Grandpa and Grandma had not been to visit Upper Carrizo Well before,
so that was our first destination.
I wasn't sure what was going on when Paul and his dad began to rock this big metal trough back and forth...

They got it tipped far enough to dump out the water and ice inside...

...then it rocked back...

and then I got the picture... it was about having a RIDE!

Apparently being rocked back and forth in this thing was fun.

Jacob, however, was on a mission, and headed straight for the water tower...

I never get tired of the old western fencing...

These kids got so muddy... they took off their sweaters and sat on them to protect their pants. Ish!

I can't even tell who this is... Megan I think...

A little snow left in the shadow of the tank.

Laurent peering over the side.

Looking out over the range.

More peering into the tank.

Aha, Jacob has gone higher...

Dilapidated chair...

Grandma checking out the digs in the old cowboy house.

Home sweet home!

Megan found a rattler skull!

The old stable.

Girl in a fence!

Laurent, I think.

Jake hanging out.

Cool fence.

Grandpa, Grandma, and the kiddos in the stable.

Paul, Nettie and kids in the stable.

On the way out, Paul in the chute!

And Jake climbing the fence.
From there we drove through north Carrizo ranch to get to the Big Mountain... and stopped so I could take this photo of the tree that grows in the middle of the road.

Paul took lots of climbing pics, as always...

And a grand climb was had by all.

Now, I want you to take a good look at these next three pictures.

What is missing here?
~*~*~*~*~
At the end of the day...

Paul will often say:

"Another crappy sunset at the ranch."

(I think I came in under 900 pics this time...)

I enjoy seeing pictures of your western country, and your adventurous kids. Does he call the sunset that because it's kind of a light mustard color? Hehee.
@ata_grandma - Lol... he's got a little sarcasm thing goin' on there!
your family cracks me up, you are the wilderness family for sure, I would of been scared to climb down in to those rocks though my luck I would of gotten stuck
CLOUDS!!!!!!!!!!!! THERE'S NO CLOUDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Picanti95 - No fair answering! You were there! You already knew! Lol!
Hey I was soo gonna say Clouds!!! As far as I can see there are *no* crappy sunsets at the ranch!!! Love love love the tree in the middle of the road! And the rattle snake skull!
@spinner_mom - Exactly so, it's almost redundant to oooh and aaah over the sunset every single day, except -- how can you help it?! It's different and beautiful and endlessly magical every single day.
Sounds like another memorable trip to the ranch. And now you're off on another adventure. You must not have much hobbit blood in you . . .
@MamaMentor - It was, and I am -- I'm a bit caught up in a whirlwind at the moment... I don't think it will settle down until mid-December now, but that's alright. It's a good whirlwind!
@blessed_7_times - I did not make it up to the top of that mountain, although I did get about halfway up. I mostly meandered around in the foothills, with Geneva keeping me company. I don't do climbing up sheer cliffs!
But I had a good time anyway, just being a part of the adventure with the family. Thanks be to God I am able to do more and more as my weight loss progresses.
